The principles of equality, diversity and inclusion are at the very heart of the Association’s established values, founded on a common sense of social justice and fairness.
We undertake to treat people fairly, promoting equality of opportunity and outcome and tackling discrimination. We will respect, welcome and value diversity, and, by developing a culture of openness and inclusion, we will aim to ensure that our services are accessible to all sections of the community.
Our focus this year is in the following areas:
- gaining a better understanding of our customers, so enabling us to better meet their needs
- ensuring our staff and board members receive refresher training to support them in delivering our equality, diversity and inclusion objectives
- working towards becoming a Disability Confident Employer, ensuring that disabled people are treated fairly at every stage of their selection and employment
- reviewing our methods of communication to ensure they are inclusive and easy to understand.
